All of them were great. I have nothing more to say.

My Ranking:

1. Adam
2. Danny
3. Allison
4. Kris
5. Matt

Whew, tough competition, but I'm starting to favor D. GOKEY. :)

AI Season 8: Top 7 Disco Night

Well, well, well, what do we have here... For the Top 7's second bout, it was disco night or should I say Donna Summer Night, lol. Personally, I think it was a complete showdown. It's never easy to sing disco songs but every aspiring idol delivered well.

At this point of the competition, it basically is about who has more talent and more personality.

On with my ranking...
Dim the lights...

KRIS ALLEN takes top spot for me for singing a very interesting version of the song She works hard for the money by Donna Summer. Weird but it worked. His move to go out of the stereotypical disco vibe made his performance rather a remarkable one.

ADAM LAMBERT finishes second for his top caliber performance. Like he can sing the phonebook!!! With his vocals, his style, his personality, he definitely is ready for stardom. Great!

DANNY GOKEY completes my top 3 for tonight with his version of Earth, Wind and Fire's song, September. His version was refreshing, very original. I like it when he hits high notes. And I have to agree with Kara, Matt always hits the right pitch. I think he's ready for this season's finals. I'm starting to like Gokey. :)

MATT GIRAUD has proven his worth and will "stay alive. I'm sure he worked his ass off to be able to come up with that performance (Staying Alive). Still, too Justin Timberlake-ish though.

ALLISON IRAHETA was just ok. What she did was enough to get herself through to the next round. Good thing America likes her now. But I tell you this, she is one good singer.

LIL ROUNDS is in big big trouble. She did get a good amount of appreciation from the crowd but not from the judges. Her version of the song I'm Every Woman, although up-tempo and very disco-ish, did not catch the expected disco vibe. It was good but not enough to keep her safe. I wish her well though.

ANOOP DESAI should go home. He's a fairly good singer but I don't really quite get his idea of disco night. I wish him well too. Btw, nice new look.

I'm calling curtains for Lil and Anoop... :)

P.S. It's not like I know more than the judges or being radically like one of the judges, I'm just spilling my thoughts out. :P

AI Season 8 Top 8

Ok, ok, ok, now we see who's in and who's not. Who should be on the stage and who should be in the bunks.

Here's my top 8 ranking for this episode of AI, singing songs of the year they were born.

1. Adam - He's the best male contestant ever!!! I never knew the song "mad world", but his version of the song totally gave jitters over my spine. From start to finish it was breathtaking. I remember last week he did a fast song, this time a soulful soft song, truly versatile. Great! Just great! I love the end part of the song.
2.
Allison - I personally love the song she did - "I can't make you love me", I knew it way back then kaya I know the song by heart. She sang it very well, showing that there's no need changing the arrangement to make it your own. That could be part of her first album. Also, this time, she has shown her soft vocal side.
3. Matt - It's good. I just think it's too Justin Timberlake-ish! Hehe. This is his best week though. He just needs more personality.
4. Anoop - I don't really like him because he sounds like archuleta but I liked his performance this time. There were moments though that seemed like his voice was about to break. Good thing he was able to cross the bridge. Song choice is great too.
5. Danny - He rocked the stage last week with his version of "what hurts the most" by rascal flatts, but I think he fell short this week. He sang a great song but his version's just ok. One of the best male singers this season.
6. Lil - What happened? Well, she sang a very common song, too common that it doesn't fit her greatness. I just wish she survives this week.
7. Kris - A frustrating performance from one of the better contestants this season. It was disappointing to see him perform like that. tsk3... Cute ka pa din nman. hehehe
8. Scott - scott, scott, scott, hmmmm, it was the worst performance I've ever seen in idol history. I think it's just fitting that you'd be eliminated. Sorry.
Top Three: Adam, Allison, Matt
Bottom Three: Lil, Kris, Scott
