American Idol - Motown Episode

Okay, so this was the first episode in the most recent season that I was able to watch. Well, I do watch AI but only when the top12 is complete only to find out that this year there were 13 of them - another twist. One more thing, now there are four judges, and things became more complicated. That new lady judge, i don't like her at all. I still am in favor of having Paula as the only lady judge.

As for tonight, it was Motown Night, I remember Fantasia's batch doing this same theme, and they were better "betterer". I just find this batch less appealing and highly common. My apologies to avid fans of this year's contestants, but that's how it is for me.

On with the show and the songs. Only a few did really well, and everyone else, hmmm, let's just say that the competition has just begun and there's much room for improvement.

Here's my ranking for the remaining ten contestants. (One of the Judges mode ako... hehehe)

TOP THREE
1. Adam Lambert
One of the best vocals I've ever heard in idol history. And it's highly unusual for some punk rock looking singer to do that kind of song (Tracks of My Tears) and do very well. Hats off to him. Thank God he saved American Idol for being a total fluke tonight. I'ma bet my bottom dollar. My American Idol.

And his winning video:

2. Allison Iraheta
16 y/o??? She's got one big voice for her age and her size. I personally didn't know the song she sang but it suit her very well. The best rose this night. I just wish her hair's of a different color, something more star like.

3. Kris Allen
Take it from my mom, "gwapo siya no..." haha, perhaps that's the best asset he's got for now. Vocals? Hmmm, that last note sure was not easy. How sweet it is to be loved by Kris Allen...

4. Lil Rounds
AI won't be complete without power singers, and Lil Rounds - one of them. I love her dress for this episode, very classy. The song was too big for her though, she's great, but there's gotta be a better song to sing.
Naramdaman ko tuloy ang Heatwave. :) I hope to see more performances from her.

5. Danny Gokey
I don't really like his name, but he sings ok. Just kinda amateurish when he and the back-up singers did one dance step together. Ewww... Pero I love his version of "Get Ready", almost got me on my feet to dance. :)
And dude, maybe you could lose some weight. :P

6. Matt Giraud
Being the first one to perform only has two ends, you get REMEMBERED or FORGOTTEN. He actually had a good performance but I totally forgot about him when everyone else performed. hehe. When they played the show recap dun ko lang siya naalala. Good luck!

7. Anoop Desai
He sounds like Archuleta but definitely Archuleta's more pleasing and more fun to watch. That's all... Now where is Sanjaya???

BOTTOM THREE
8. Megan Joy
Ok, blonde girl, I loved your vibrato but the song ate you alive! Now, you're in trouble.

She could've picked a better song. Nice dress btw.

9. Michael Sarver
"He looks like a wrestler" - from my sister.
:)
Ano na kasi ung song niya?

10. Scott MacIntyre
I don't know how he got into Idol. He's weird and I don't like him. Imagine singing an upbeat song and he has this awful straight face. Urgh... He should go, please he should!
John Peter Lewis nalang.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and hopefully I am right.
:)
