do it the BEDAN way...

No! I cannot not end the day without writing this!!!

what's my itinerary?

hmmm, nothing much i must say??? A championship game to watch and, if victorious, an after party to attend...

My stereotyped day didn't turn out the way i expected it to be though. As far as my thoughts take me, it is, obviously different, ultimately distinct.

Let me begin with my path towards the Big Dome for the most awaited championship match for NCAA's Men's Basketball between San Beda Red Lions v JRU Bombers.

Before proceeding to the game experience, i'd like to share this. On my short cruise inside the gateway mall i came across this emporium, and in it, are the bags i'd definitely love to own. Fancying on a lot of stylish bags, my deep brown eyes saw this big black leather bag! I was in total awe! The spotlight dedicated to that perfect piece seemed like a ray from heaven. It was the epitome of perfection. I rushed to it! Checking it out, feeling it's skin brush and glide through mine, I felt a sudden connection, the bag and I are related! (in some way. haha). The deep urge ran into my veins, telling my core that I need to get this bag! However, one sad fact, my piggy bank isn't prepared for this, and that's really hapless... btw, the bag is
P **,000, you just figure it out.
Hell!!! I'll get that soon, few months from now! I want it! I will have it!

Going back to the basketball game...

It is after all the third and final game of the championship round and i felt like there is an inherent need for me to catch it LIVE.

Today's Scenario: A sea of people wearing RED versus a river of people wearing YELLOW.

So how was it?

It was my first ever live experience of a basketball competition in Araneta, and to my luck, what i was about to see and what i saw is not just any game, it is THE game, the championship match.

Being a consistent skeptic, i really though i wouldn't find the aroma in this brew of coffee. Not until i was able to sniff the sweet scent of high grade coffee impeccably brought by the game and what has transpired.

Seating at a place most souls won't dare to go, the border between SBC and JRU, surely made scared. But with every point, which resulted into an insurmountable lead, the sense of fear slowly crept away. Indeed i was enjoying the game. It's really different to see it live. The cheer, the drums, the crowd, the spark of competition, the conflict between two teams, incredible! I remember hearing myself uttering these words as the play goes on, "Empathic, Ecstatic, Energetic". What's behind it, i dont know. I got carried away...

In the end, SBC won, placing a 15 point lead, untouched and unscathed. Like that's so given! It's like stating that Oprah is one of the most influential person in the world, if not the most, or Roger Federer being the greatest tennis player ever. You see, it's an absolute fact, even a six-year old wouldn't doubt that SBC will come out triumphant.

The team really did great! I take my hat off to their heartfelt and superb performance.

The After Party...

It's tradition that an instant celebratory party is to be held if SBC Red Lions Win NCAA.

And this year, being another "Bring home the Bacon" year, a party was indeed organized.

At first, I had no intention of confining myself to the asphalt covered street of Mendiola, to do partying! I thought it's weird! A big No, No, No way for me...

However, due to my friends' persistence, i ended up gracing the said event, in the most unusual sense of clothing one could possibly wear in such occasion. (my lips are sealed! don't even ask!)

Careless about what people might speculate of, i made my way through and just went with the flow. Good thing i have such wonderful friends, CEZ, KARLA, DIA, MHIK... You guys rock! I would've been crying my heart out if i wasn't able to witness and experience the Bedan victory party! Not a stir loser tonight!

So what's different about this partey!!!

That would be, "Everything"

It's a celebratory party for a basketball team, and coming from a university where not too many basketball trophies were won, i was bereft of such experience. it was evidently new to me.

What's the party like? Picture this...

Mendiola was closed, cars lodged and parked on both sides, then turned their trunks into instant bars with overflowing beer and the like, everywhere! No one was without the essence of joy!

The streets leak in alcohol! And I had my fair share. Even if i was drinking with some people i do not know, i still enjoyed it, for in it is the spirit of victory. Mutual and equally shared, through the cups of liquor of course.

People were flying everywhere, everyone was busy rounding every corner of Beda and Mendiola. They come and Go! I didn't know Beda had that much of a population. Fortunately, i met some new people.

Cameras flashing everywhere! Snapshots - a never ending sight! Speaking of pictures and snaps, we (karla, dia, cez and i) had this crazy idea of having our pictures taken with some of the Bedan players for some various reasons. All i know is that my reason is just to make my world funner! For karla, i'll just leave you with this, #16. For dia, it's #18. Click! Click! Click! Success!!! I'll get the pictures and post it soon... Now i know how an avid fan feels like. Some random guy even took pictures of me and dia when we were walking and asked us to pose some more. Whoa! it's not everyday you get to experience that.

Dia and I had to cut out our party appearance short, but every millisecond was worth it. :)

This is perhaps, one of the highlights of my COL stint in San Beda College. I never knew that this would be super duper fun! And i can't wait for next year!

Tsk3, another reason for me to stay - for good.

Up until now, i feel the drum beats, i feel the cheer, i feel the rush, i feel the victory and i feel the glory.

With all things said and done, truly, life is different if you live it and DO it the BEDAN way.

Cheers to the good life!
